Our water color supplier is currently closed to protect their staff and customers. Until they reopen, here are a list of recommendations for water color sets from our Art Director, Justina Stevens. All of these sets are available on amazon, most art supply stores and on many websites.

1. Sakura XNCW-12H, 12 Assorted Watercolors Field Sketch Set with Brush. This is the set that we normally offer on our site! We like this set because of the rich approachable colors for beginners and trained artist alike!

2. Winsor & Newton Cotman Water Colour Paint Sketchers' Pocket Box. A great set of water colors! These offer rich, true color and are a Cageless Birds’ favorite for en plein air, and finding local color in life studies.

3. Jerry Q Art 12 Assorted Water Colors Travel Pocket Set. A simple, affordable, student grade set that is great to color mixing.

4. Prang Oval-16 Pan Watercolor Paint Set. If you are Visual Journaling with your children, this is a good set. It offers some fun colors and your heart and budget won’t break if your children decide to be rough with the paints.
